Pricing

I offer an introductory rate of $20 per hour for up to four hours of work.  Typically, this is enough time to review and provide copy editing and/or substantive feedback on 20-40 double-spaced pages. After that, if you’d like to continue working with me, my rate increases to $30 per hour.

For longer manuscripts, the four-hour introductory rate may be dedicated to a review of your manuscript as a whole, in order to provide an estimate of how much work will be required in total, or what can be accomplished with a given number of hours of work. Obviously, the state of the manuscript will determine how much time is required for thorough copy editing and polishing.

For every ten hours of my work that you engage, a half-hour Skype or phone consultation will be available to you at no additional charge.

Payment in advance is required for any work billed at the introductory rate.  At my standard rate, I will begin the work upon receipt of a retainer for half my fee, which will be determined in consultation with your requirements.  The remaining half of my fee is due upon delivery of my edits.
